Andrew B. Yaffa Reflects on 35 Years at GYC and the Firm’s Next Chapter
Grossman Yaffa Cohen, Co-founder and Managing Partner Andrew B. Yaffa, recently authored a commentary for the Daily Business Review reflecting on his 35 years with the firm and his vision for its future.
Andy first joined GYC as a summer law clerk while attending the University of Miami School of Law. After graduating in 1991, he returned as an attorney and has spent his entire legal career with the firm. More than a year ago, he took on the role of managing partner.
In “From Summer Clerk to Managing Partner: My 35 Years at GYC and What Comes Next,” Andy looks at the principles that have guided GYC since its founding — including preparation, trial readiness, personal responsibility, and a deep commitment to clients — while also discussing the need for law firms to continue evolving.
He also shares his approach to leadership and building for the future. That includes investing in the next generation of trial lawyers, sharing leadership across the firm, embracing technology and new ways of working, and growing with a clear purpose.
As GYC marks its 38th anniversary, Andy’s perspective is rooted in both where the firm has been and where it is going: building on the values that have defined GYC while making sure the firm is stronger and better prepared for the generations that follow.
